Tiger Eye is a popular quartz gemstone, that usually combines brown and black colors, that forms when fibers of the mineral crocidolite are replaced by silica. It displays a chatoyant quality when it is moved back and forth in light. The majority of tiger eye stones can be found in South Africa and Thailand. However, it can also be mined in several other countries including the US. Beads used on woven strand are 10mm. Beads used on single strands are 8 mm.
